Comprehensive eye examinations conducted by optometrists are designed to assess the function of the visual system, the refractive or optical status of the eye and the health of the eyes and visual neurological pathways. Many ocular disease conditions are not accompanied by obvious symptoms, especially in early stages when interventions are most successful. Comprehensive eye exams also review focusing and eye co-ordination ability.
In addition, systemic disease (such as diabetes and high blood pressure) may present with ocular signs that are detectable in a comprehensive eye exam, facilitating early diagnosis and better management of the condition.
Frequency of eye exams is dependent on your particular eye care needs, age, health issues and family history. Your specific eye exam schedule will be discussed as part of the counselling after your initial exam is completed.
Sudden onset red eyes, new onset of flashes and/or floaters, sudden vision changes and other potential ocular emergencies can be assessed and managed at our clinic.
We work closely with local ophthalmologists if a referral or co management is required.
We are committed to providing high quality eye care through advanced technology, personal and professional service, and a caring, comfortable environment.
